Our founder, Heather Howitt, went searching for inspiration and when she discovered chai, she knew she encountered something worth savoring. In awe of the experience, she set out to bring chai to her home state of Oregon.

Drawing inspiration from the Oregon outdoors, she spent three years perfecting her recipe and in 1994 Oregon Chai was founded. It was the first chai brought to America and set the standard for authentic chai.

What started as chai concentrate with plastic bottles and hand-drawn labels quickly became a coffee shop favorite. Acquired by Kerry in 2004, the brand was non-GMO project verified in 2015 and has continued to grow exponentially.
